WHY
RESEARCH?

Understanding the way students understand. The Academy uses research to inform its educational model, publications, and future learning companions.

The foundational working paper for the Academy’s current research program has been submitted to SSRN. It establishes the conceptual and measurement foundation for the current program and remains subject to SSRN completeness review.

From procedure to understanding.

The foundational working paper for the Academy's current research program was submitted to SSRN on August 14, 2026. SSRN Abstract ID 7281501 is pending completeness review; a public citation link will be added when the record is distributed.

Research sequence

The research does not stop with one paper.

This roadmap distinguishes foundational work from planned research. Planned stages are not presented as completed studies or validated outcomes.

01 • FOUNDATIONAL

Foundation

Define the educational problem, concepts, and WHY-first framework.

02 • PLANNED

Student Experience

Examine how students experience procedure-first instruction and where understanding breaks down.

03 • PLANNED

Subject Applications

Apply the framework to algebra and later subject-specific learning contexts.

04 • PLANNED

Learning Companions

Develop and evaluate student-facing books, study tools, and companion resources.

05 • PLANNED

Implementation

Study classroom, tutoring, intervention, or program uses where appropriate.

06 • PLANNED

Evidence & Outcomes

Document what changes, what does not, and what the next research questions should be.

Future research & applied programs

The next questions are already forming.

These are planned research and applied-program directions. They are not presented as completed studies or validated outcomes.

Planned

Student Why Series Studies

Subject-specific and companion-focused studies will examine how WHY-first resources function across mathematics, language, English, geometry, and later K–12 learning contexts.

Future research / program line
SpeakSafeAI

Deus amat et protegit

Student Safety. Real Voices. Safer Schools.

Planned work will explore the responsible development and evaluation of a faith-based student-safety and anti-bullying companion, including student voice, support pathways, safety governance, and appropriate boundaries for AI-assisted school-safety tools.

Later phase

Teacher & Implementation Research

Later work may examine instructional use, educator supports, implementation conditions, and measurable student outcomes after the student-centered resource architecture is established.

Research-to-learning cycle
